Join Samaritan Hands as we travel to Costa Rica to help with Resurrection – Costa Rica 2024. Trip dates are October 5-14, 2024. The $1,550 trip cost covers airfare, in country transportation, housing and food during your time in Costa Rica.

Requirements:
Must be a High School Student with a servant’s heart.
Must have a valid passport by the time of travel.
Must have a written recommendation from your church or youth leader.
Must be able to pay for or fundraise the cost of the trip and provide a $500 deposit to reserve your spot. Space is limited.

September, the month of spring and youth at the New Horizon School. Like every year at the New Horizon Methodist school, we celebrate the arrival of spring with lots of enthusiasm. Our school is filled with colors and happiness. We give thanks, glory and honor to our loving God because this year we could celebrate all our activities in person which is a great and special blessing! The students from 1^st to 6^th Grade, held a beautiful spring parade and gave cheerful artistic presentations to welcome the spring season.

The students from 7^th Grade and up (high school) had their special party for “Youth Day” – a fun day of competitions divided by grades and colors. It was a time of great joy and fellowship since they were able to be all together after a long time of separation due to the Pandemic. The activities started off with Word time: “Special time with God.”

The theme was “Young Influencers” where the students were motivated to be light and a positive influence in their environment. After that, they had their snacks and then ended the day with competitions and fellowship. They also had a painting competence called “Let’s paint our beautiful Asuncion.” Afterwards they had an awards ceremony for the best painting! We praise and thank the Lord for His protection and guidance at all times and also for His provision and faithfulness. *All the activities carried out by the institution are available on our Facebook page Escuela Metodista Nuevo Horizonte.

Because the state of international travel in the coming months is unknown, Samaritan Hands will not be booking any new flights for upcoming planned trips. We will no longer be doing a medical trip to Guatemala in the end of May. We have already made arrangements for a group traveling to Costa Rica in June and will watch and wait to make a decision on that trip as we get closer to departure. The VBS/Construction group to Guatemala in late June, Fairview UMC rescheduled trip in July and Zimbabwe in August are all TBD. While we will continue to support all of our ministries across the globe, it is not advisable that we continue to make plans for upcoming trips too far out.

We are continuing to support the Hogar del Nino orphanage in Guatemala, the New Horizons school in Paraguay and Ishe Anesu in Zimbabwe as well as our other ministries with the help of your donations. Donations can easily be given online at SamaritanHands.org/donate .
